Frequently asked questions

What does “neurodivergent” mean?
Neurodivergent is an adjective that means an awesome person whose brain works a bit differently. They may have ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia, bipolar, OCD, or other developmental disabilities and/or mental health conditions. 20% of the UK population is neurodivergent. Opposite to neurotypical. Not meant to be fixed — there’s no one “right” way to be.
Why should my business hire neurodivergent people?
Neurodivergent people have a load of wonderful, unique skills that mean they can be brilliant additions to your company if the environment is right for them. Learning how to hire, hold onto, and get the most out of this group will make your business a happier, more creative place. And you’ll have employees who have:
  • Enhanced problem-solving abilities
  • Brilliant focus and creativity
  • A fierce sense of loyalty
  • Improved productivity
  • Great memories
  • Top pattern recognition skills.
What’s an Inclusivity Spectrum?
The Inclusivity Spectrum is our Inclusive Jobs rating for how neuroinclusive companies are. When your business first signs up with us, we’ll ask you a series of questions to place you on the Inclusivity Spectrum, depending on how strong your internal policies are and how inclusive your workplace is. Once you’ve been placed, you’ll be sent specific guidance on what you need to do to get to the next level. Your Inclusivity Spectrum level will be displayed on your business profile, meaning our neurodivergent community will be able to look it up.
How does the Inclusivity Certification work?
Once your company has been working with us for a little while, you’ll be eligible for a full Inclusivity Certification. We’ll run an audit, working with your team and their availability, to look deeply at your business policies, culture, recruitment process, and neurodivergence stats. You’ll be scored on different areas and will be certified as a Neuroinclusive Employer of Bronze, Silver, or Gold level.
Can my company ask to be certified again?
Your subscription includes one Inclusivity Certification audit per year — we think it makes sense to have a year in between to give you time to do the work to become more inclusive. Once you’ve been certified, we’ll work with you to advise on the areas you need to improve to move up a tier next time. If you’ve got questions about your Certification or would like to know more about how we run the audit, please get in touch. For larger organisations and public sector employers, we look at different audit timescales with you.
Who certifies Neuroinclusive Employers?
Our team of experienced HR and neurodiversity professionals are in charge of our Inclusivity Certification. Together, they’ve worked in HR and recruitment teams for decades, specialising in inclusion and diversity. We work with a number of partners to make sure that our expertise is relevant, practical and using the best of current knowledge.
How does billing work?
You’ll pay one annual payment when you first sign up, then pay again in another year. For larger organisations or public sector organisatins, we can offer multi-year payment plans. Through this page, you can buy using Stripe, a secure online card processor. If you'd like us to invoice you for payment by bank transfer, or have different requirements, please get in touch.
Can I cancel my subscription?
We’ll be sad to see you leave our movement to make the world more inclusive but yes, you can cancel. Your subscription will still be active until your year is up.
Can I change my plan if my business size changes?
Yes, of course. Please get in touch with us and we’ll sort it out.
